Each month Boys & Girls Clubs of Edmonton’s ‘Cultural Diversity Program’ will focus on a different culture or ethnicity in an effort to educate and entertain our kids about other cultures and celebrations in the World.  This May we celebrated Mexico in honor of Cinco de May.  The kids made God’s Eyes, Falminco flowers, and they dressed up in Sombraros and moustaches for fun.

In a safe, supportive environment, youth can access cultural programs that will encourage them to discover their own strengths, develop a sense of competence and self efficacy, connectedness, compassion, respect, belonging and responsibility by understanding more abut their own and other’s cultural diversity.  Based on our organizations strong Aboriginal awareness programming and events that include: Healing Sweat Lodge and Pipe Ceremonies, Drumming and Dance, Native Beading, Regalia Making, Traditional Garment Making and more, Cultural Diversity awareness has branched out to provide the same quality of programming and appreciation to all of our children and youth.
