Be a volunteer

Our volunteers’ time, energy, commitment and dedication is the lifeblood of our service. Every year Boys & Girls Clubs of Edmonton works with over thousands young people and their families, and this number is increasing. As a volunteer you can make a positive difference in the lives of the kids we help.

As a volunteer you will be able to inspire and motivate children, assisting them to reach their potential by being a friend, sharing experiences, and spending time together.

What can I do?

There are many ways you can volunteer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Edmonton. Your enthusiasm and goodwill combined with your skills, interests, expertise and even your hobbies can help children and teens at one of our clubs near you. Here is a list of just a few:

Screening Process

All responsible not-for-profit agencies that work with vulnerable populations - children and youth, require that volunteers undergo a thorough screening process*. This is done for the protection of our clients, our agency and our volunteers.

The process to become a volunteer at Boys & Girls Clubs of Edmonton includes:

  • Completion of an application form
  • A criminal records check
  • A Child Welfare check
  • An interview

* If you choose to help with one of our Special Events, you don’t have to undergo the screening process.
